Flight Departures at Ljubljana Airport

Jože Pučnik Airport (LJU), also called Brnik Airport or Ljubljana Airport, outside of Ljubljana, Slovenia is a small airport with one passenger terminal to date. The passenger terminal is divided into three floors with the departures and arrivals on the ground floor with arrivals on the right hand side and departures to the left and in the middle. 

Transfers at Ljubljana Airport

Parking – if you arrive in a personal car that you plan to keep parked during your travels there are parking options of both a multi-levelled parking garage right opposite the terminal or open air parking to the side. There is also the possibility to park for a short while to drop off or pick up a passenger. Fees are counted from the moment the car passes the entrance barriers until it is paid at the end of the stay. Fees are paid through the cashier’s office, during their varying opening hours, or through the payment machines located throughout the parking areas.

Rental cars – for anyone returning a rental car to the airport please follow the instructions from your rental car company. All car rental offices are located in the parking garage right across the road from the airport terminal. 

Buses – buses arrive to, and leave from, the bus stops outside the parking garage right across the road in front of the terminal exits and entrances. The public transportation bus line 28 services central Ljubljana, and there are other options to other areas around the airport. All tickets are purchased directly from the driver at a fare of up to just over 4€.

Taxis – arrives right outside the terminal entrance. Taxi's can be booked in advance here.

Shuttle – shuttle services can be pre-booked through most hotels in Ljubljana or directly by the traveler. 

Check-in and Security control at Ljubljana Airport

The check-in desks are located right inside the entrances of the airport and the security control is next to it. The airport departures area is divided into Schengen and non-Schengen areas.

Priority Lane is available to some passengers on some flights, please check with your airline if you are eligible or check at the check-in desk for your flight. Mostly it is travelers of business class, certain card holders or club members that may use the priority lane.

WiFi at Ljubljana Airport

The airport offers unlimited free WiFi in all areas on their open network. No passwords or registration needed.

Smoking at Ljubljana Airport

There is no smoking allowed inside at the airport, but the terrace on the second floor allows for smoking. 

Lounge at Ljubljana Airport

The business lounge at the airport offers a comfortable and quiet place for travelers to wait for their flight. The business lounge is available to certain card holders. Please consult with your airline for more information.

There are several ATMs available at the airport, including outside and in the departures area.

Bars and restaurants

The airport offers a variation of eateries at the airport ranging from simple to fine dining, mostly on airside past security, but not exclusively.

There are a number of shops, including duty free, once past the security control at the airport.
