Flight Arrivals at Ljubljana Airport

When arriving at Ljubljana Airport, or Jože Pučnik Airport, LJU, as it is officially named you will arrive at the only passenger terminal of the airport. The baggage claim area is located on the ground floor and besides the luggage carousels you will also find toilets, a café and phone booths located here.

Once you have collected your luggage you are free to clear customs.

Transfers at Ljubljana Airport

Taxis and buses can be found right outside the terminal exit and they don’t need to be pre-booked, although choosing a pre-ordered taxi will cut the fare with around 10€ for the journey to central Ljubljana. There are also the option of rental cars and shuttle services. There is no train line servicing the airport.

Rental Cars – Several rental car companies are available at Ljubljana Airport, and it is always best to pre-book your car of choice with your company of choice, although it might be possible to rent on the spot with some companies. The car rental offices at the airport are all located in the parking garage across the road from the passenger terminal.

Taxis - The taxis waiting at the taxi rank have an official permit to service the airport, but the airport holds no responsibility for their services. 

Taxi vans can often be found outside the terminal offering shared rides from the airport. The fare will depend on how many passengers that are sharing the ride, but can be less than 10€ per person.

Buses - The airport bus service services the towns and areas around Ljubljana and the fee is up to 4.10€ for a single one-way journey. Public bus line 28 runs between the airport and central Ljubljana from morning until evening every two or three hours, from morning to evening, depending on if it’s a weekday or the weekend and it costs 3.60€ for a single one-way ticket. Tickets are purchased directly from the driver. 

Shuttle – Shuttle transfer can be organised either by booking it yourself or through your hotel or travel agency. 

WiFi at Ljubljana Airport

The airport offers all visitors free WiFi internet access without the need for registration, security settings or passwords for unlimited time.

Smoking at Ljubljana Airport

There is no smoking inside the terminal building. When arriving at the airport the closest place to smoke is outside on airside. 

Bars and restaurants at Ljubljana Airport

As mentioned there is a café located in the baggage claim area for arriving travelers, but for those who might want to have something to eat with someone greeting them at the airport there are options on the land side in the departures area of the airport.

There are several ATMs located at the airport, including one outside.
