Taxi Transfers To and From Ljubljana Airport

Once you have collected your luggage from the baggage claim area of Ljubljana Airport and cleared customs it’s time to get to the transfer of your choice. 

At Ljubljana Airport you have the option of buses, rental cars, shuttle or taxi for your transfer to or from the airport. 

Taxis

The taxi rank is located right in front of the terminal exits and the official taxi providers are presented by a taxi permit placed so it’s visible on the dashboard of the taxi. 

The permit is called TAXI dovolilnica and it has the logo for Ljubjana Airport on it. The text on the permit is in Slovenian:

”DOVOLILNICA ZA VOZILA, ki opravljajo dejavnost taksi storitev na območju Letališča Jožeta Pučnika LJUBLJANA”

 which means 

"PERMIT FOR VEHICLES performing taxi services in the area of Jože Pučnik Airport LJUBLJANA".

Also on the permit is stated the name of the taxi provider, the date the permit is valid until and the taxi identification number. 

The taxis at the airport are not controlled by the airport’s authority, Fraport Slovenija, and they take no responsibility for their services. 

 A journey from the airport to central Ljubljana takes approximately 30 minutes depending on the current traffic situation and the price for the journey with one of the taxis at the taxi rank is around 50-60€.

There is also the option of choosing a different taxi company and pre-book it before your arrival for a more affordable price of around 10€ less. 

Shared rides

Taxi vans offering shared rides can often be found right outside the airport’s passenger terminal building and there is no need to have pre-booked it. 

The fare for the transfer journey will vary depending on how many passengers are sharing the ride, but it is not uncommon that it ends up as less than 10€ per person. 

There is no Uber available.
